Je suis chinoise de naissance. J’ai déménagé dans le monde anglophone à la fin de la vingtaine — d’abord en Amérique du Nord, où j’ai vécu pendant plus de dix ans, puis en Angleterre, où je vis depuis plus de vingt ans. J’ai enseigné la biologie humaine à l’université et je suis maintenant à la retraite.
Pour rester mentalement active et me lancer un défi, j’ai décidé d’apprendre une nouvelle langue. J’aime jouer au tennis toute l’année et faire du ski dans les Alpes en hiver. J’aime particulièrement apprendre le français à travers les films, les chansons, ainsi que par la découverte de personnages et d’événements historiques français.
Je vis en Angleterre avec mon mari, qui est anglophone et parle aussi français comme langue étrangère. Je cherche un(e) francophone avec qui je pourrais pratiquer le français oral, en échange d’une aide pour pratiquer le chinois.
I love singing, skiing in the winter, cycling all year round and playing tennis in the summer. I also like watching comedies, and laugh.

Hi, I’m Tong. I am currently studying Art in the US and hoping to practice my speaking and writing skills in English. I’ve been using Duolingo to learn French and German for about two years, and I just started learning Japanese. I would like to try using these languages in real life!
I speak Mandarin and a Wu dialect. I use Simplified Chinese. (If you are learning Traditional Chinese, I can read it as well.) If you have any questions about the Chinese language or Chinese culture, I’d be happy to share what I know.

My English level is intermediate, and I prefer video chats or meeting in person in public places like cafes or parks, especially if you're also in Edinburgh. Ideally, I’d like to practice around 2–3 times a week, depending on our schedules.
